Flowers are alluring–we are drawn to their beauty, they provide glimmers of awe in our days, they’re a language when words aren’t enough. Yet our desire for out of season flowers only keeps us disconnected from nature.
With many locally grown flowers available in the cooler months like poppies, cymbidium orchids, tulips and more, do we really need imported peonies in May?
The Problem: Large amounts of greenhouse gases are created by long haul flights for imported flowers. Chemical treatments & fumigation required also pose risks to the environment, bio-security, and our health.
Our Solution: We reduce carbon emissions and chemical treatment of flowers by providing 100% Australian grown flowers to our customers.
The Problem: The global cut flower industry creates large quantities of single-use plastic waste such as plastic flower sleeves, gift packaging, and floral foam. This increases with imported flowers.
Our Solution: Our packaging does not include any single-use plastic and we do not use floral foam - a toxic, single-use plastic product widely used by florists for the past 60+ years.
The Problem: Without mandatory Country of Origin Labelling (CoOL) for flowers in Australia, consumers aren’t provided with a choice.
Our Solution: As a B Corp Certified business we believe in transparency. We provide a choice to consumers wanting to reduce environmental impact, by sourcing only Australian grown flowers for our products and services.
Will you support a better future of floristry by seeking out a local conscious florist?
